Green Valley Ranch Casino Sued After Visitor Claims Multiple Injuries

A woman who claimed she was severely injured by a security gate at the Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino parking garage in Henderson, Nevada, has recently initiated legal action against the establishment. 

Elizabeth Browner from Clark County asserts that the gaming facility was careless in failing to offer a safe pathway for her when she was close to the automated gate in the VIP Parking Area on January 12, 2023. 

Browner sustained head and facial injuries when the gate hit her, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. 

Eye Trauma, Knocked Over 

The gate swung abruptly, striking her left eye and sending her to the ground, as reported by the Nevada Globe. 

According to the Globe, Browner sustained a cut on her nose, a corneal abrasion, a head trauma, and experienced blurry vision. The court action states that the injuries resulted in her remaining home for two weeks. The lawsuit stated that the pain and suffering also disrupted her sleep patterns. 

After the two weeks, the injuries required Browner to “receive ongoing medical treatment, pain management (and) physical therapy,” as stated in the lawsuit. 

History of Failure 

The lawsuit claimed the gate "created a hazardous situation" and had broken down "both prior to and following the ... incident." 

Browner’s lawyers are pursuing damages for her injuries, discomfort, and anguish. The precise sum of damages Browner is requesting was not readily accessible. 

The matter is awaiting resolution in the Eighth Judicial District Circuit Court of Nevada. The civil court case may go to trial if the two parties are unable to agree on a settlement. The casino might propose a pretrial settlement to Browner. 

Green Valley Ranch is managed by Station Casinos, a division of Red Rock Resorts. 

When requested for a statement, a spokesperson for Red Rock Resorts informed the Review-Journal that the firm does not provide comments on ongoing legal matters.

"The safety of our team members and guests at Green Valley Ranch is the highest priority. Green Valley Ranch takes great pride in its safety record,” the company was quoted by the Globe.

The casino at Green Valley Ranch boasts a gaming floor of 143,891 square feet featuring 55 gaming tables along with over 2,500 slot and video poker machines. The hotel features 495 rooms and suites as well
